Excellent lighting and shadow work here, Sue! This shot has a very "painterly" quality to it. Dave.

Thank you Rod.
I took this while out with the dog (not bad for a one handed shot!) Alas, no tripod.
I'm familiar of the technique you mentioned; did not feel the sky was blown out here... quite liked the paleness of the clouds & sky in this & the attention very much on the forground; again though it's all down to taste. It's a great suggestion non the less & a technique I've yet to use in daylight... must have a go next time I'm out with my tripod :)
Hope you are well & bright x

This is a lovelly scenario and I like the way you composed the shot. When I look at the photograph I really wish I was there, there is though a major problem with this image in my opinion and that is that the sky is blown out. You exposed the foreground very well but that meant that the sky got blown out, a easy way to avoid this is to mount the camera on a tripod and expose 2 shots one for the foreground and one for the sky and then merge them using your favourite photo software, you will see that the overall quality of the image will improve a lot!
Hope I helped,
All the best,
Rod
