I recently went into scanning a lot of old slides I have taken in 1974 and 1975, when I studied a full year in Peru. Some were degraded, and my equipment was not the top at the time : a solid Pentax Spotmatic II with a fairly good Takumar 135mm lens, and a below average Tamron 28mm. I remember too I had a macro 50 mm but I can't remember what it was exactly. These slides were scanned using a 2900 dpi Nikon CoolScan IV. I would probably be better served with a CoolScan V, capable of 4000 dpi, but, hey, that's what I have. Colour restitution was mostly done using the automatic colour restitution function of the scanning software.
Everything ok here, Christian. Our home is quite well protected against storms coming from the west. Other places in Vienna were not so lucky though. It's also been unusual warm, 19 degrees in Vienna and 20 nearby. Next week it will get cold and we will pay for the warm winter. Have a great weekend. Markus
Thank you Markus. I would not even remember where exactly in Lima this was taken.
All things OK after the big storm ? After we had unusually warm temperatures for weeks, California is now frosting. And winter has finally made its bed here too. We even went down to almost -25 Tuesday night.
