Thanks Doyle...you know, with how tourism has taken over Yosimite, I was surprised to have gotten this image with no buildings, or phone/power lines! Thanks for the thoughtful critique...always a pleasure. ~Sheryl

This is just beautiful Sheryl! Douglas said it all I think but even though he has that wonderful re-worked version I still like the way you have this one done. Awesome, of course, scenery . . . but the presentation makes it almost feel like looking backward in time. Well done!

Douglas, Thanks for your thoughtful critique!! I love your version of the image!! You're absolutely right about the crop, and I really enjoy the addition of the black border. Thanks so much for that!! ~Sheryl

Aloha Sheryl,
This landscape image is one of my most favorite topics and study for years while also being most attracted to one of the most famous National Parks in the world.
The composition is pretty much standard from the tourist point it was taken but you nor anyone can help that because it is a breath taking vantage site indeed. Afterall, who would not desire to have at least one of these pictures in their portfolio ... right?
I would crop just a bit off the left and right margins though with a small branch protruding from the mid-horizon on the left border and some branches once again in the upper right hand corner. Other than that ... no other composition issues at all.
As for the B&W rendition I really have to compliment you on using that old diehard 2020 with not too many still around and the film choice also. Enough for equipment and keep using that camera every once in awhile so the shutter curatins don't freeze up on you from humidity because it will be hard and expensive to replace and/or repair.
As for exposure and lighting it has already been said but the remark could have been presented better imho. Perhaps an offered rework such as the attached might be a bit more artistically constructive and I hope you like it because I sure do.
Hope you enjoy my own version also here:

Best of Regards - Thanks for sharing!

this is good, great tones and composition! I think you've could've been more lucky witht the lighting. A little sun might have made it even more interesting, is a bit dull.
