I just commented on the Sharkfest ! I am impressed !! Only took 1194 shots !!! OMG !
I just went over to Salem to a Octoberfest.. and took 136 shots..maybe I need to take at least 1000 !!!

You and Doyle could make magazines of the SF at this point I think !!
Nice ones too :)))

Yep that you did my friend... I think the major part is having someone to drop the hints too ... > haha!!! It couldn't hurt :(

I am anxious to see your shots from this past week-end !

Now you are trying to blame me for your weird images. only kidding, and I know it is easy to get weird images when we talk about Doyle.

I should be good at dropping hints, I got a new lens right. Sorry took so long to respond, was getting ready for last weekend.

Thanks Roby. I am not able to block my mirror that I know of. Other than that, I am going to try a faster shutter speed (maybe tonight) and maybe use a remote to trigger the shutter as before I was manually shooting the picture

Thank you Annemette. I pointed out a telescope to Doyle the other day, but he turned it down when he could not see a way to mount the camera.

Thank you Dav. I did nothing to this photo other than crop, as I had the lens that day and was just excitied that I got the moon that good. I am taking more of these shots and will work them when I have time.

Thanks Leo. The new lens made this shot super easy, really recommend it, but it does take some learning.

Thanks John-Eric. I wanted a 400 lens, the store told me about the Tamron that went to 500 and it was on sale---SOLD!. Doyle wanted a fish-eye, which he got. Glad you see the dark side of the moon!

Doyle, no award...it does have a few problems but as you know I am still learning this lense. You might get better than a shiny disc if you "borrow" my lense, but that will cost you big time!

Michele, sorry you don't have your new camera yet....you don't know how to leave big enough hints, let me help you next time. And you are never too old the any part of clebrations. Doyle got me Darby (my corgi) for mother's day and I'm not his mother. Thanks for liking the moon shot.

ehi.. hi Maryluce..
a nicely shot composed..
sure the moon have always a big atmosphere and effect, that i love it!
the zoom is so good don't have vignetting also if you have used at the min aperture! also don't see never the aberration.. GOOD!
it is a beautiful photo in together, personally I believe that big zoom the 500 in this case the "slow" shutter have created the little blurry image, with a little loss of detail on the sea of tranquillity and the craters.
I task that the “problem” can be resolved with solid tripod and with the block of the a mirror of the reflex.. in this case the vibration does not exist and it does not create the blurry effect!

best regards my friend..
wishes
roby
Ps i have rating 6+ for this image also if you have a perfect exposure and great "white"..
ciao :) :) :)

Dear Marlyce
Wonderful shot and a suitable entry to the new project! I love watching the moon through my telescope, but I haven´t got a tripod to take such a clear picture. Congratulations on your new lens!
Best wishes,
Annemette

Nice lighting and good exposure, however focus is a little soft. Did you lock up your mirror on this one? Perhaps a little high cirrhous cloud has blurred your view, or maybe wind. Did you sharpen in PS after cropping and resizing? With that lens I think you will find that you soon make much sharper images of the moon. Catchy title!

WoW!!!!!! I wanted to give you a 7 but since I don't know so much about the moon I am rating this a 6++++

So you got a new lens !! You lucky girl !! I didn't get my new camera yet>> YET!!! << The BIG word.
I will get one soon. I was counting on the b-day ...first time no one ask me what I wanted...Think I might be too old for that part of the b-day celebrations!(?)

Excellent shot Marlyce.... !!!!!!!
Congratulations !
Michele~
