I like this one even more than the previous shot There's a powerfull feel here. The magic light, the gentle curve of the curtain blowing in the breeze, the warm colours and the peeling paint.....are some of the many fantastic details that make this image captivating. Excellent work, Brad. Regards - Emgy

Michael, I have been very "hit and miss" with UF the past many months. I am attending a huge festival in Fells Point (historic Baltimore waterfront) in two weeks, and I will exhibit my work for the first time. I'm hoping that there are others who appreciate the darker side of light. You've always been so supportive, and your comments are insightful and thoughtful. I can honestly tell you that your words, and those of everyone else who take the time... inspire me to share my vision. Without the insightful feedback, it would never occur to me that anyone would find it interesting. I'm very thankful to you for your interest and kind words.

Bradley, I sat here and really looked at this image, then I read the critiques, there’s nothing I can say that hasn’t already been posted. Honestly, I think Fabio said it best, and I agree with all the support that Hugo offered based on Fabio’s post. The only thing that I can offer you is that if I would have seen this from any other photographer, I would not have been impressed. But I’ve been following your photography for a few years now and I’m able to put myself in your mind on this one. You have a poetic eye that links thoughts and emotion to your work. Well done Brad, thanks for posting it. -Mike

Hello Brad, so nice to see you. I was on here last night and saw that you had a new image but I couldn't stay on and made a note to myself to make sure I came back to see your work, so I was totally delighted to hear from you too. How are you dear?
I absolutely love this image. It's powerful and very emotive, I have such mixed feelings when I see it...some are fond, some eerie, some sad...powerful mood. Love the blowing of the curtain and the light on the wall, the peeling paint and cracked window really tell the story. Forgotten and abandoned, but still beautiful and with something to say. I love it. Thank you for stopping by Brad and I hope things are good with...:)

Hi Brad,
I know the photo has some flaws, but as it's the mood that's the key element here, I don't think the flaws really matter. They might even add to the atmosphere - a clean and flawless photo woulnd't quite fit, I'd say.
Cheers,
Hugo

Gayle... whadyamean, AWOL??? I've been away, too, but I'm surprised that you are depriving the community of your edgy, artsy style! I am so glad that i can bring you a smile, and yet concerned about you.. I hope you the very best in whatever it is that you are overcoming. My heart is with you, and I so look forward to your full recovery, so you can splash a little more brilliance onto us.
Are you dealing with carpal tunnel, from yielding all of those protest signs?? ;-)
Miss you!

Hugo, there are so many technical deficiencies to this shot, and therefore I appreciate your generosity that much more! It's nice to know that you and others see past that, and appreciate that some photo's are composed around atmosphere and texture, and technical flaws "be damned"! Thank you!

Leave it to you to temporarily bring me out of my AWOL status at UF with an easy-breezy delightful vision...we may be politically opposed, but our artistic sensibilities and appreciation for exquisite poetic light is very much aligned;)
The soft sidelight accentuates both the texture and form of the peeling paint surface...The sheer billowing curtain captured in mid-motion induces several past moments in time that soothed my soul...to me,when a photo can convey and evoke strong emotions, then it is a success...
Thank you for posting this shot and giving me my smile for the day... Am dealing with some serious health probs, and can't hold my camera yet,but may post some shots i never posted in the past....
i appreciate all of your past comments on my photo work, and your demented but entertaining sense of humor regards, gayle (to my faves)
