James: Yes, it's chicken wire and the brown sugar color is cut ends of lodgepole pine logs. I will be attempting to shoot in this garden again this summer but, since it is at 10,000 feet of elevation, the flowers don't come up until very late. This is a favorite of mine but the clearer shots sell better, of course.

An amazing image, Fred! Very different from the usual tack sharp hummer shots, it's a great variation and deserving of an award IMHO! Dave.
