About Class Project: Mood of Isolation

This is Darwin. He talks. Sometimes he talks with great emotion, particularly when he asks to "go 'bye-bye'". He doesn't scream it but gets very soft and a bit pathetic in his tone. You could almost detect a sorrowful plea in his voice. "Go 'bye-bye'?"

He's not really isolated. He has a BIG room and a mate (Avi, a scarlet macaw) and he goes "bye-bye" everyday.

I guess this goes in the category of "Pets" although, I thought of putting it in the "Male Nude" category too. I mean, he IS male... and refuses to wear any clothing.

~ Warm regards, Rocky

What color is the other one? I know I had a conure once...OMG...unbelievable amount of noise generated by that thing, and what a shame, he couldn't stay for long...hehehehe...the love was gone...LOL. I'd like to have a little Cockateil, one that I can spend some time with but don't have all the work. It must be big job to keep up with them? Supersized, and New and Improved hugs to you...:)

These guys are real characters. Lots of personality. Darwin (here) in particular is a goof-ball. He loves to hang upside down and laugh.
Yes, they are insanely noisy. We built a separate room for them that has double walls (I'm not kidding either). They can scream all they want now without disturbing the neighbors (or ME). It used to be impossible to concentrate with that screaming. But it's just 'what they do' in the wild. I think we measured their screams at 120 decibels. Pretty loud. Since we built the room, life with them is much more enjoyable. Enormous HUGS to you missy! ~R

Oh how wonderful, I love birds, all kinds, so you have 2 McCaws? They can get a bit noisy...a very nice range of tones and a great composition, yes the tones fit the mood...and that pose is perfect you can almost hear the quiet questioning...very nicely done. I used to have a Yellow Nape and he used to yell..."help, help, help, get me outta here" and he'd also just randomly scream...NOOOOOOOOO....he was a riot....I often think of getting another bird, but I have the dog, and now I'm too busy, but maybe later...big hugs Mister...:)

Thanks for saying this Rebecca. He is INDEED a cheeky bird! Such personality too. He's very playful and often just plain "goofy." ~ Warm regards, Rocky

Hi Aya Abdel,
Yes, this was originally shot in color (see attached). However, I thought the B&W would add to the moodiness of the project.

Thanks for all your kind comments.
~ Warm regards, Rocky
