Wow we used to get to about -4 or -5 overnight in Pukekohe but during the day it was warm. Would love some more pics.

Hi Tony - no offence taken. Yes the Hoar Frost is unique, and yes I do have a number of pictures - makes for some really great photos - especially trees and the like as the frost gets thicker and thicker. The downside is you don't get to see the sun for days on end and the temperature struggles to get to a high of -5 during the day. Wow. I never realised that a Hoar Frost was so, excuse the expression, Black and White.
Do you have any more pics, I am really intrigued now. I am sorry if my comment came across the wrong way. I honestly thought it was Black and White due to my ignorance.

Sad thing is Tony that this was is colour exposure.....the hoar frost makes everything come out looking as if it were captured in Black & White.....

Love the shading that the B&W gives thison the Willows.
I definitely do not miss that about NZ. It was beautiful but bl..dy cold on the feet when you were walking to school. Always had to look for a cow patty to stand in to warm the feet up and that was in the North island.
