Thanks for the constructive information. The pixilation is a result of this being a bad transfer from film to digital image.

Lana, I gather from pixelization that I got at a very low enlargement that this is a cropping of a larger photo. Assuming that it is, I like the crop. The composition is really nice. The problem I have with the photo is that it appears a little washed out with not much tonal variety. My preference would be to work on the lighting and contrast a bit to create a bit more definition for the lioness. I've attached an example. Steve

Thanks for the advice. Tanzania is far from my home as well. Now that I am learning more about photography I wish I had the opportunity to return and reshoot everything!

Tanzania - quite a bit far from my home town. I do like the shot overall, good pose. Lighting is a bit tough from directly overhead, but nothing anyone can do about that.
With the lion looking left, maybe some more open space to the left or the right? Maybe more "rule of thirds"? Hard to say.
