Thanks for your compliments and keen observation Bill. I never tend to contrive pix. The moment the girl peeped out, I pressed the shuttter button without caring for aperture, speed or light metering.

Vikas; Wonderful Photo-Journalistic shot. The movement of the individuals only exemplifies the fact that it wasn't a posed shot. Street level photography, no matter what country is one of the most challenging aspects of photography... You see; you take; and you did very well...the Girl was/is the point of the photo. Nice work!
Cheers,
Bill

Tha pic may not be technically very sound but my purpose of taking it was to highlight the disparity.... the two sexes ace. Thanks for sharing your view point anyway.

Thanks a lot. Back home, there are stories of courage and confidence that the women have exihibted. In some case the women literally deserted their husbands to save the girl child in the womb. And the survival goes on.

Wonderful photo. I love to read all the comments. What I love best about this picture is the confidence of the girl... her eyes beautiful and direct. She is not cowering or hiding. Beautiful girl and as all are saying the contrast of men to women here makes a huge statement. Thanks for sharing your photo!

This definitely gets the message across... in a subtle but very effective way. The expression on the girl's face adds more to this already effective photo. Very sad, but thanks for shedding light on this unfortunate practice.

Yes Kambiz, it is sad. But gradually things are moving in a positive direction. The government has also taken an initiative to ensure that unborn girls are not killed. The authorities are also felicitating families having baby girls. People are also waking up to the fact that there is no survival of their race if there are no girls. Thanks for your concern and comment. Regards.

INDEED your image with it's message inside with your explanation opened my heart toward that truth in your country. It is very SAD. I remember before Islam comes to Arabian continent, Arabs used to kill their daughters alive. Then Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)stopped that crazy tradition.
