Another photographer introduced me to Wright Morris' photographs as I was about to throw in the towel as far as photographing the building & farm scenes of the midwest. It gave me new energy.
This picture is a change from what I've seen others try to do & that is copy or reproduce the original. Good angle Don, & I see the place is still there. Nice shot.

The composition on this is what makes it special, Don. There is a real sense of depth and lonliness with this. The sky is beautiful as well.

My kind of picture! I love old industrial, railroad, commercial photos. Good job and you sure captured Kansas.... like this photo, lots of flat nothingness.
But I am getting green-crazy. I might just have to take a trip somewhere where it is green... all I am seeing is brown and red. Sure wish it would rain.

Beautifully detailed with first class clarity and wonderful richness to the colour tones my friend. I too love the receding rail track and the emphasis on the wide open spaces of these quintessentially American scenes. Well done to you Don for this excellent simplistic landscape. I like the composition on this one, Don. The track leading off into the distance gives a feeling of space and this lonely elevator sitting in the middle of the prairie. Great detail. This could be any small town in the Nebraska/Kansas area. Well done! Larry
