I'd say that your first raw conversion was a success. The tonal range is superb and your choice of a simple black frame REALLY sets off the highlights. DOF is good and not overwhelming.

Hi Rebecca, Outstanding tonal range, and technically a very good photo. The DOF separates the old, weatherbeaten fence from the background nicely, and the textures have been very well captured. Conversion of Raw files isn't that difficult, heh?
Good composition, too, fitting the atmosphere of the photo. Very well done.
