Dave: Whoa!!! If those are Black-Throated Sparrows, you need to report that. My book doesn't even show a sighting in your area. They are mostly desert birds living in the southwestern U.S. with some sightings shown in western Canada. The House Sparrow has similar throat markings and is everywhere.
We've got some nesting in our front yard, Fred, and I would have to agree with you. This is a great shot of him, with perfect detail in the feathers. Dave.
