Then sing, and dance, and enjoy beauty in any form my friend.
If there is a God out there, then smiling laughing happy people standing all together as none is how he/she/it wanted us to be.
Just saw a wonderful, inspiring video of Van Halen. And I pick up my guitar and play...
Best wishes!

Thank you Hugo for the detailed comment, and there is nothing to be sorry, my friend. As I already said, I wanted to have the truns and branches completely black, and I tried with a light spot measurement of the backlight. I have to try that again and find out how it is best done without affecting the rest too much.
As about the bottom of the wall, well, now that you said that, I realize that I miss that too.
Thank you very much again and best wishes!

Jonathan, first of all many many thanks for your extended comment and detailed explanations. You are right, I measured light using the backlighting, because my intention was to have the truncs and branches completely black, since I like the combination of black with all the golden autumn colors. As about the metallic thing, I don't have any idea - might be intercom, or anyzhing else. Unfortunately for me they are very very popular around her.
Thank you also for the comment on photoshop. I also have the impression that knowing that what you shoot is what you get, you get better by the time because you start being more careful.
Thanks again for the comment and best wishes!

As usual, I should've read the comments prior to commenting myself; Doing that the other way around, I always notice people mention the same things... Sorry.

Hi Nick, I like the autumn feel in this photo. Very pleasant atmosphere. The image quality, probably because of the scan, is not as good as your usual standard, though. The dark areas seem to be lacking a bit of detail, and the bright sky on the right is a bit overexposed, resulting in a rather limited tonal range. Yet, the combination of subjects is very nice, the autumn tones compliment the fence nicely. Concerning the composition, I think it would've been nice to see the base of the fence too, but that's only trivial... Nice shot.
Cheers,
Hugo

Maybe it's my monitor, but the backlighting seems to be too strong and the camera exposed for that rather than the tree, because I can't see any detail in the trunk at all and that strange metallic thing built into the wall (an intercom maybe?) doesn't fit with the rest of the scene. The colors are nice though and are reminiscent of early fall with a lot of green still showing. One thing I'll say about the photoshop question is when photographs are altered to the point where the photo is secondary to the special effects, then it's not a good photo. Strong images don't need to be overly "photoshopped" and doing so tells me that the photographer's skills may be severely lacking. Photoshop is a great supplement for an image, but it should maintain the integrity of the original. A lot of people use it just to make an image look "cool" or more artistic. Usually those photos comes off looking cheap and boring. If you only use it for cropping though, in the long run, you'll be a better photographer I think.

Giuseppe, first of all many many thanks for your wonderful comment!
Second of all, I thought we go sleep? ;-)
But seriously, I don't use ans PS-processing except for cropping. Simply because I can't. I wish I would have the knowledge, though.
And another thing that keeps me from using it is, how much of all these things is allowed? I mean, if a photo can be processed such that is looks wonderful where it was not so good before PS, then what is the the photographer's meaning? Perhaps I dig to deep here!
Thanks again and keep well!

A CC, I must dedicate myself more. First the leaves, naturally, autumn synonym. They are wonderful not only for their infinite hues but also for the composition of threes and branches. It seems to me that you have used the sharpening of PS (may be) with excellent results. The iron gate and even more the shining metal doorbells hurt my eyes: they draw me back to reality while dreaming in that natural beauties. Very nice picture for me anyway.
