Too bad I have fast reflexes and you missed me. So There!!! At least you'll have plenty of water this summer. It has not even rained but two days this year. I wonder how much I'll have to pay for a shower this comming summer. Maybe I'll have to change my name to Smelly Kelly. Hope all is well and thank you for your comment. Still looking for your posts!!!! Kelly

Hi Kelly, I've noticed some sharpening artifacts on my husky dog portrait (top right corner), but nothing significant otherwise. Your picture looks great, I personally wouldn't want it much softer, but I'm partial to sharpness :)

A wise decision in my opinion about the sharping. I too will set mine to none. Have you noticed any differences in any of your photos that you have uploaded? Kelly

Yes, I remember someone saying that if your image is over 750 pixels sharpening will occur, but I thought that happened with any reduction? You're right - I should set mine to "none" - I too prefer my own sharpening vs an unpredictable one :) Kelly's watercolor looks great though, with or without sharpening, I don't think it needs to be any softer. But I'm also very keen on sharpness!

I remember reading in a forum not too long ago since the upgrade about it. Someone mentioned that their images were severely sharpened after uploading and admin told her to change the sharpening option in "My Preferences". When I read that I always leave mine set to "None" now cause I don't want mine sharpened anymore than I have already done. There may have been more about the subject in the Suggestion forum if you care to go back and look for it. I think it's in one of those loooong bug threads but I can't remember exactly where I saw it. My thoughts about it is that I will do all my own sharpening if any (thank you very much). It may have something to do with certain uploads needing more sharpening if the sizes aren't quite right or some such thing. Maybe I will have to go and look for it myself but so far my uploads have been satisfactory with the option set to none.

I agree with Mark and the other comments - nice PS job, Kelly in that it looks natural! The textures really stand out, it's a lovely image and a very subtle treatment!

Hi Kelly and Ann - I was wondering about that sharpening too - I wonder if it's an option or just a statement of how you've manipulated your image. Don't know for sure, mine's set to medium until I find out what exactly it means. I wish there was a little explanation to go with it. Ina

Personally I don't know why they have it Kelly cause most people would have their image sharpened to just how they like it before their upload so why put in another sharpening option?? I don't understand that one but who am I to question the powers that be.
Cheers - Ann :)

Kelly check your preferences in your portfolio cause there is a shapening option. I always check that is says none before I upload my iamges. It could be that. This is still a lovely scene. Lovely composition used here. All the elements balance nicely. The stone structure looks like the Flintstones mailbox. :) I love the splash of colour in the bush and the round grass around what I shall call the mailbox. :) Nice lines in the tree trunks too. Still a great image. Just watch for that sharpening option in your preferences in the future.
Thanks again for all your great comments on all my Frozen Falls images.
Cheers - Ann :)

I don't know what this looked like originally, Kelly, but it is still a very soft image. I think you did a great job with the technique! I really like this, and I'll bet the original was nice too! Good job! Kathy

I like the effect, because it doesn't have the PS look. It's more subtle, more of an in-lens appearance.

A lot of steps, Kelly, but a very nice result! It does have a very painterly look to it, and for some projects, such as this one, can really give the image a great look. Dave.
