Hi Don, A very impressive shot! Looking at the "frozen" body of the hummingbird and the dynamism and motion of the blur, I'm playing with two thoughts.... Either the wings move very rapidly (to rapid for the flash sync) or you exposed it using ambient light and a fill flash sync-ed on the first or rear curtain.... both are plausible, and completely irrelevant. It's a fantastic shot!

Catching these little guys is not easy, Don. Very well done. I like that there is motion in the wings. It gives a very accurate depiction of a hummingbird.

Luis, I am only here about six months in the winter and the Hummingbirds are here all winter. Not sure if they are here in the summer. I am in Arizona now. Thanks for your very nice comment. Don.

I'm impressed...I realy am. These little suckers visit my yard every summer and I haven't been able to get a good shot. This one is truly fantastic. Are they around all year or just summer?
