I like the idea, the way you framed it.. I don't know what, but something is missing.. Perhaps it would be better to play with the diagonal and the water line..

Even although it is dying there is still great beauty in the bloom. Lovely natural tones and great details. It is good to see someone knows the names of these orchids. My wife grows several types and I haven't a clue what they are. I just post them as 'orchids' Well done to you.

It's soft. I would like to see an appropriate plane of focus over which this image could shine. Since the film plane appears to be approx 30 to 45 degrees above the flower's plane, I would like to see maybe a narrow DOF on the front sex parts and the near petals. If you didn't use it, try the self timer. The blue background is perfect.
