Snap! I've just uploaded something very similar!

Short of extracting the image from UF, I don't seem to be able to see them full size on the new UF at present. But as far as I can see, this looks remarkably sharp for 1/500th. What sort of lighting did you use?

All the best, John

I wish I could say my eyes were normally that colour. It wasn't intentional, but playing with the curves turned them from their normal greeny khaki colour - to something much more pleasant!

Hi Sally,

Local camera club sounds great! Hopefully we see more of your works in the future. I like the clarity here, the dramatic sky and the different "shapes" of the ships. This creates a lot of tension.

best wishes,
Thilo

A superb and finely composed image of decay, Sally. An excellent choice of monochrome to depict the concept.

I like the proportions of boat to flat, tidal detail. The 45 degree angle of the dead boat, is also highly effective and visually satisfying. Good highlight and dark compromises - with a particularly impressive focus, and light, upon the wooden boat planks.

Excellent, and saving as favourite.

Regards
Colin.

Sally,

Nice Kitty... As far, as your question goes, you couldn't have chose a better DOF... But I don't believe you used a f/5.6 on this 1... Looks more like f/1.8... Perhaps a different lens?

Well done indeed,

Marty

Nice image Sally and a very interesting effect you got. My guess would be that it has someting to do with the white in the photograph - it are mainly the whites on the boats and the strong white reflections in the foreground that remained sharp. Regards.

Don't understand the technical stuff, Sally, but I like the picture. Your series using boats as central subjects is really good.

Best wishes, Len
