Hello Cathy thank you for the very kind comments. This guy started having a lot of trouble balancing on our old clothes line till discovering, over about a month, that upside down was the way to go!!! Lots of enjoyment for the onlookers. Sadly one day the line will give way......no more nest material.

Hello James,
A very interesting bug and could possibly be called 'North West Thorny Devil' Yes the bugs and birds match the climate in some way!! I lived in Washington for some years east of Chehalis. Keep me updated if you find more buggsy fare.
