I'm a sucker for these unique perspective shots and this one is no exception. Well done. Wonder what it would look like from just the inside of these two front pillars. I keep wanting to visually crop them out.

As Maggie stated, simple and effective. Did you alter the shapes of these trees with your PS filters or are they natural. Either way, fascinating to look at.

Lovely color and nice mood created. Composition is a bit static.

Nice composition. Thought provoking as in...where is this, what is this, what is that big ring on the wall. Effective.

Very cool. I don't imagine too many would think to try this. Well done.

I like this a lot Jim, glad you pulled over and took the few minutes. The reflected light comes just low enough to frame the dock posts. Nicely done.

Very nice. Good lighting, well controlled contrast and detail that looks almost like a medium format negative.

Very nice Jay. Lots of character in that face that is exaggerated by the tight framing. I'm curious about the title also.

I like it. The crop is effective with the yellow diagonal. If the overhanging foilage was not there, I think you could add to the abstract feel by having the boat appear to be floating in the sky.

Really like this series Ingrid. This one really lets one's mind race in forming all sorts of images within the frame.

Great detail and texture. Interesting lighting that is very well exposed. I just think it lacks a compositional point of focus, if that makes any sense to you. I'm getting a little sleepy and can't seem to express myself very well.

This composition is really effective in dramatizing this massive thunderhead, well done Don. Sky has a little too much violet in it as Cemal points out...a bit unnatural. Otherwise very impressive.

Very dramatic scene Tony. You have quite a lovely countryside that many of your images show-off nicely. I wish the house at the left of the frame in this one were not so close to the left edge. I think it may improve composition if it was in slightly. I like all of your work. Wish your scans were a little sharper, it would add the impact I know is inherent in many of your shots.

This is a beautiful setting. Well exposed for the range of contrast. I agree with Dan that the bright foreground should be cropped out. In addition to being overexposed, there is just too much uninteresting foreground that detracts from the lovely scene behind.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Cemal, I readily acknowledge the overuse of USM. This main subject was very soft (slightly out of focus) to begin with as it was difficult to focus with my viewfinder fogged-up throughout that cold, damp morning. My attempts to sharpen it in PS do look a bit overdone here in certain parts of the image. PS can be a dangerous tool in the hands of a novice. Regarding the color, although unique, it is natural and was what attracted me to this scene. Marc, although there were undoubtedly different and perhaps better or more dynamic compositional opportunities, I was determined to keep the background trees in this shot for added perspective. I'll have to go back soon and confirm this, but I deon't believe I had many options if the background trees were to stay. Thanks for taking the time to observe and comment.

As with all of your images, this one leaves me with many questions. I try to piece all of the elements together and understand what is going through your mind when you set out to create these. I seldom come up with any answers, just the uneasy feeling that you live in some very dark world or are trying to convey some very dark message that I can't (or maybe don't want) to understand. I have to belive this is your intent and to that end I find these extremely effective. Technically, I don't find any faults here. I would love to be involved in the process of these being created, just to satisfy my curiousity, but I'm avoiding any hard drugs these days. Sorry for rambling. Fine job as always Andrew.

Cool effect William, as are all of your liquified posts. I think a litle sharpening on the bird in this one could enhance the effect. Keep them coming.

What a classy shot. Beautiful composition, lovely lighting and the crop to a panaromic is great. This would look nice framed and on a wall in anyone's home.

Welcome to usefil llona. I have viewed your portfolio on another site. I can almost gaurantee you that your images will be very well received here. I like the entire water droplet series which I hope you intend to share here.

If it weren't for the rather normal (but very colorful) sky in this shot, I would say it's from another planet. The foreground has a very surreal look to it. Where is this place and what is the strange looking post at the left of the frame?

Didn't notice the cabin in the thumbnail. It really made a difference by adding some real scale. Exposure is very well handled.

Had to look twice at the name on this one Greg. Nice to see your keen eye for composition extend beyond landscape and nature. Viewing the thumbnail at a glance I thought this was a pyramid. I like the thoughts supporting this image, we are all connected and in more ways than most believe.

Nicely done Tony. The placement of the clouds makes for a very effective composition. This may look very fine indeed in B&W.

Cool effect Joffre, something almost unearthly about it. How long after sunset was this taken and what kind of exposure. Are these exposures "guesses" at this time of day (or night)?
