Wow! This IS crowdy! Nevertheless, beautiful! Well captured, I like the various movements of the wings so clearly seen. The background is everything one hopes for such a shot!

Neat perspective. I can't tell if they're flying toward you or away from you. It's tough not to think of a squadron of planes when I look at this. The soft focused background provides an ethereal feel to this. I like this quite a bit. Very well seen.

Thank you Hugo. You're right it's unusual for me --- I don't shoot "in the dark" that often.

Hugo says it best, but I just want to say...its magical James. How beautiful, there is just one goose showing us his little legs.

Hi James, Quite an unusual shot, coming from you! I like the graphical quality. The flock of geese flying off in the vibrant tones of the rising sun is awesome. This one got Feel, capital F.

Cheers,

Hugo

This is why I like front page images. We get to see photos that are otherwise hidden in the archives. I found this little gem on the front page. How assertive of you to have spotted this face in the carved woodwork. Great curves and textures. Well seen and captured James. Great shot.

Cheers - Ann

I agree that the composition is good, but I can't really take credit for composing it. I was just tracking these two cranes and waited for good wing position. They just happened to be in a nice place with respect to the background. I suppose I can take credit for tossing the images where the composition wasn't very good though.

Thanks for letting me know I got you/us onto the front page. I usually bypass the front page and miss those kinds of things.
