Hi Janet, thanks for your comment The lens, Pancolar Carl Zeiss 50mm is a really old lens, but with supreme quality, everything is manual, but with the tubes is the only way to do it. The combination is a great macro lens (as you see, and is not a detail - ok I did square the image - but the detail up close is incredible, see attach) I bought the lens with screw mount for around $30, the extension tubes with screw too $8, and a adapter for screw mount to EOS $15. You will need a tripod, as camera shke is a no, no, but definetly good fun!! - and cheap. If you want more info/help just drop me a mail!

thanks Hugo, your comments are appreciated. Is been long since I fancied a industrial feel in my photos, looking for the desolated image, but give some life to it. This last November was freezing cold with bright blues skies, so i though to myself - "perfect day to freeze my hands while taking some photos" - got there at the best time of the day, lucky me, for once I took a long series of pictures I was pleased with, all in one outing! - next time walk to the thames barrier...

Hi Derek, top notch triptych (tripple trip) I'm always a sucker for industrial landscapes, especially in the sunset. Last time I was in London, we commuted back to Heathrow past these industrial scenes, and I was tempted to prolong my stay to take a few photos.... Fantastic series! Top Notch.
Cheers,
Hugo

The wide angle and backlighting, along with the foreground shadow, make this a dramatic image with lots of impact. Possibly, raising the horizon and camera level, pointing more downward to include a little more foreground and less sky would be even more effective. This is, to me, a fine travel picture, making the viewer want to be there!
