Thanks for the truth, Yen.

But why did you post something that was only the result of a... test? :-/ I think that you are also not necessarily convinced about the quality of the image, when you say that this was only a test, or am I wrong?

Cheers!

Nick

P.S.: One doesn't need really so "good eyes" to see the problems of the image. They are too obvious.

I'll tell you the truth. It was my first picture from my first used EOS 10D camera... The idea was testing the color saturation... If you check another pictures from EOS 10D, they are better then this one...
Thank you for the remarks, and good eyes!!!

Good and simple composition, but you lost too much contrast and focus, Yen. I can't say much about details or textures since there is too much motion blur hier. Was that your intention?

Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the info, Yen!

Well, even if I crop the original to the same region you did, it still remains bigger. So some kind of resizing must have been responsible for the small size of your post too.

To your question about what woftware I use for retouch, I use none. Either the image has been shot correctly or no software will really make it so much better. I use PSE for cropping and downsizing but no retouch.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot for attaching the original, Yen!

It was a good one, perhaps a bit more contrast again. (Attachment.) Why did you scaled it down for posting? :-/

Cheers!

Good composition and timing, Yen. The lines in the floor perovide an excellent hint for direction of the floor and this enhances the original perspective that you chose. The focus and the details are also nice, especially on the face with that expression of a bit of wondering and a bit of a smile. Only the objects on the top and bottom right seem to spoil the composition.

The image needed a bit more contrast, I guess. (Attachment.) The white floor could be a very good background for that. I think that the light metering took the higher amoint of reflected light from the floor as a reason for less exposure. Restricting light metering on the kid (perhaps its face) could work better.

BTW, I think that this might also work well as a high-key image though I am nit very sure because of the darker hue of the overall.

Nonetheless a good one, and also with a good potential.

The portrait is very good, Yen. A pity that it is so small. The coloring is almost perfect with perhaps some small deviation of the very difficult colors of skin toward the more reddish, but the nice color and light gradients enhance the subtle "roundness" of the small child's face. The timing was great for getting a good special face expression too. The details look OK in this size, but the small size prevents me from saying much mire aboit them.

BTW, why did you post it so small?

Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the info, Yen! Really, a very creative combination of the two images! I wonder if a more photorealistic image could also be interesting. (Attachment.)

The prespective of the original must have been very greaceful and very strong for such a photo, Yen! A bit of Dali seems to be present on your work with PS but a bit of Escher too, in some strange way. Perhaps because of the mixture of an image with a sketch. The light balance looks also very nice to me, but could you please attach the original image?

Cheers!

Nick
