Hello Martin,
wow! it has been a while since i have seen a comment longer than one sentence, thank you for taking the time to express yourself. Firstt to the table I have a number of pictures here on uf and you are absoultely the first to pick up on this perticular kind of imperfection in my pictures, granted that this time it was a little more drastic and stands out a little more. I do this to see if my pictures are really looked at or just glanced over, and it brings the eye to whole picture and not just the focal points. The solid black background was achieved by having the only light on in my kitchen an overhead hanging lamp and a fast shutter speed. I really can't say more about this partiicular shot because it was more or less find my camera throw the lens on and set the camera to aperture priority and shoot, no time for setting up the shot. Thanks for the interest in the shot and you can look at more of my commisioned work at

very nice shot, is yor choice of b&w a custom curve you have made yourself or do you sample it from another foto? I have looked through your portfolio and im amazed at the consistency of the levels. impressive work

Thank you all for the nice comments. Ron the skin tones are achieved with a custom curve downloaded to the camera. It is made up from a mixture of original skin tone and duotone that matched from the copper from a shiney new penny.

Hi David,
Thanks for the comments. I have been debating the removal of the hair myself, but waiting to try until I have the time to set down long enough to get it done properly.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to Comment

Diego I Speak spanish but never really learned to read or to write it.Your Portfolio is also very impressive, Thank you

Paul the photo is not unintentionally blurred, it has a soft focus filter to keep the skin pores from taking focus from the eye, and is done Post exposure. Thank you for the comment and
your Portfolio is looking good keep up the work.

Nice Picture Racheal,
With the stains on the shirt and the Smudge on her face it all makes it seem like she just "Flopped Down" (As we Texans say) at the right moment
Very cute

Hello Graham,
Thanks for the feedback. His parents wanted the one with a soft focus and the complete sharpness on the eye. I only show what was chosen, but originally I wanted a bit more contrast.

Thanks for the feedback. I have come to learn that quit a few people don't like this classic look in a photo anymore, it's good to hear that some still do like it
