lol!
She always looks very curious...and I blame that on the little "goatie" of hers.

You should!
I love shooting stuff at night with super high-speed film and long exposures.
Sometime I put my camera on Aperture priority and snap! I love how the shots turn out.

Thank you!
It was a situation where she wanted me not too show much of her...so that's why I shot her in silhouette.

Thanks Etienne!
They did! haha! I think the exposure was 3-4 sec. long.
It was pretty pitch black out there. The only source of light was the string of lights around the balcony and the lights from inside.
I think it was cool how the very dark sky turned out to look blue.
It was a fun photo to take.

Sherry,
A lovely silhouette!! Very pretty lady, just enough of light to see what is going on, yet not so much as to lose the mystery of the bride(?). Excellent photo!! Bravo!!!
Merci, merci!!

Sherry,
A well shot, well composed photo!! I love the crop, the lights and the couple. 1600 film and they still had to 'stand very still'? WoW!! Beautiful capture!! Bravo!!
Merci du partage!!!

The other thing to use for spot touch-ups is the heal brush 'j'. Say you want to get rid of crow's feet. Hold the Alt key, and click on a nearby spot of skin to use as reference. Then, just press down once on any area to smooth it out. Be warned that the Heal tool doesn't work well adjacent to sharp lines or strong color changes, as it 'smears' the line. No biggie...just ctrl-z to undo it.

Here's a tried-and-true technique, Sherry:

- Duplicate the layer
- do a Gaussian blur (more than you'd want on the whole shot
- Now, using the eraser tool, erase everything but her forehead, cheeks, etc. You want to erase that layer to restore everything with fine detail (the flowers, her hair, eyes, lips, eyebrows, etc).

Simple, but effective.
give it a try!

Hi Paul,
I see what you're talking about. I am still trying to figure out the filters available in photoshop. She had some wrinkles that I was trying to soften up with a slight blur filter.
Do you have a trick that might work better?
It would be great if I could get a better filter effect.

Thanks,
Sherry

It's a nicely framed shot, Sherry, but the post filtering makes her skin seem very blotchy.

Thanks everyone.
I'm having a lot of fun. I do need to slow down a bit otherwise all my stuff will be in form of collages!
And yes Susie, that is a fish eye adaptor. It's so great to play with...you just put it on your lens and there you go!

Cool Sherry! Is the one on the right a fish eye lens or something? It's a very different effect...beautiful! Your colors are so nice..I like the cloud formations and the framing is really good! Congrats.

Yep!
That's Sean and his friend James. And yeah...it is Lake Travis... One of Sean's fav. spots.
I'm sure if he was taking some people out to the lake, that would have been the spot.
It's really lovely.
I went up to the car to get the camera and on hike back, they were just swimming and talking. I thought it was such a great moment.

I think I know this spot. Is is Lake Travis with Sean on the right? If it is Lake Travis then I think I have gone swimming there. The temperature was soooooooooo nice. On the warmer side of cool. Perfect on a nice hot day. The lakes here are shockingly cold, even on the hottest day of the year. They always take your breath away when you jump in! Nice shot.

I love how you've put the building and riverboat to the right of the bridge. So many people would have just taken a shot of the bridge and river. Great job!

Thanks guys!
Very nice meeting you both.
Yes, Sheila has created a monster indeed. LOL! This is one of the most addicting sites I have ever come across. It's wonderful that it really makes you want to go out there and take neat and interesting photos, just so you can share them with your friends at UF.
I'll have to check out your photos.

Cheers,

Thanks Margaret.
I got to hold the hammer-head after taking the shot. They let it go back to the water after a few minutes. They have the most interesting skin. It's pretty sharp when you rub in one direction and super soft the other.
