The person is great and interesting, unfortunately the background is rather disturbing. A different angle could have added to the overall quality of the composition. But congrats for the snap shot. Jurg

Thanks for you comment. I received a similar comment on the "Snake Charmer" pic. Indeed I am overdueing the with glow. There may be two reasons for this. First: I generally like the kind of artificial drama it creates. Second: I have not yet mastered Photoshop enough. The shadowing looked a lot more natural when I did it manually in the lab. So, if someone has a good hint on how to darken the background/sky in photoshop without the heavy glow, then I would gladly hear about it. ... and thanks again for you comment, Vojtech.

As you mention the timer, I assume that this a selfportrait. Congratulations, though I would invite you to re-shot the picture with a more neutral environment. Could make a great pic. J.

A great portrait. Composition, color, expression. Everything commes together nicely. At first I had a similar reflex to crop the top window (see previous comment), but fully agree, that it wouldn't improve the overall picture.

I like this pic. Colors match perfectly. Only comment: I probably would have preferd the light comming from the other side of the snail. But I guess you used available light, and you certainly made the best out of it. Great job.

Tu control de los colores me impresiona. Felicitaciones. Todas tus fotas tienen una vivacidad, spontaneidad y un pocito de ironia que me gusta. En este foto hubiera puesto mas distancia entre el modelo y el "background".

I like the colors and the freshness of the pose (in all your pics). Though I am not sure that the color of the trousers fit correctly in this pic. Was it on purpose? Cuando anades unos mas? Jurg

In my opinion there are three reasons for the blur: First it was done with a long shutter time. Second I used a 400 film and pushed it to 1600. Third I scanned the negative with a pretty low quality scanner (flatbed with a negativ add on). Meanwhile I have bought an excellent Nikon Neg Scanner, but haven't yet come upon the negativ of this pic to rescan it. So all three effects give this kind of soft blur.

The lighting is great and so are the colors, but I would have liked to see the hands of the man; or, second option to cut the image tighter (on the right and on top). But still, great pic.

It was shot in color (the D2H has no B&W-mode, at least not to my knowledge)... and I love the white glow. I usually overdue the white, because it creates some drama. But then, I've been a traditional press photographer and have changed to digital only recently, and am kind of experimenting with the new possibilities. Jurg
