I am so glad you sorted THAT out, there is sssooo much about Global Warming...I'm getting sick of it!
I took a peek at your portfolio and was most impressed! I can see the interest in my Jack Russell Terrior, I particularly liked the 'Fur Trader'...

As noted in my previous comment, I got the impression this was the coastline of the Antarctic, obviously I misread your "about". I am actually relieved, I thought "global warming" was coming upon us much quicker than anyone can imagine.

Very interesting 'about' John...and superb image! I love the depth , and detail, exposure, and texture of the rock(land?)) also the people getting as close as they feel comfortable being ... and the water is not bad either - especially the color :))
Great shot !!!
All the Best,
Michele~

Beautiful! Thank you for the "about". The landscape does not strike me as a place that I imagined would be iced over most of the year. In fact it looks more like the Southwestern deserts of the US (perhaps even Australia). I would imagine it's quite impressive to see in person, especially with the grandness of the place.... your addition of the people and cars gives it a true sense of scale! Amazing! Well done... Brigitte

There you go with your fab descriptive response to my submissions.. I swear I only post them to see your reply..ha! Yes, I must admit I like the tropics too, but the very north of Oz is a bit unbearable for too long a period.
Thanks again, M, for your lovely reply.

This is so beautiful and tropical looking I can see how it could be very tempting to cool off in here ....BUT I still wouldn't do it - I don't think , would YOU ? Nahhhhhhh not a smart idea --but a very good image with great perspective..and color...
Love the water-falls ...I bet it feels wonderful !
Great shot JD---This is my kind of photography- Tropical !

Thanks Paul, for that. I have already downloaded that site and in the process of reading it up. I will take your advice on 'half-noise' setting and see what happens.
Now about those 'sisters'.......

LOL!
Yes, and their *sisters* have sisters!
I don't know when I'll complete this drudgery of photographing them all. ;)

FYI, I tried the free version of Neat Image, and was impressed enough to buy their + version. They also offer specific imaging profiles for your camera's sensor. My most-used setting is 'remove half of the noise' which does a splendid job without visibly affecting any of the image textures.

Paul, I really appreciate the lead. I will look into this as it might be able to rectify some of my film shots that have grain DEEPLY embedded.
ps Took a peek at your portfolio and couldn't help but noyice your Harem ! Do they have any sisters !!
Cheers, mate.

Nice shot, John.
If you've not tried it, there is some very nice software, called Neat Image which only does one thing: remove noise.
There is a free version available at neatimage.com

Thank you, Lynda. It's good to hear from an Aussie. I had a look in your portfolio and was disappointed the pic of the red sunset was only fairly small. I love those sunsets as you would see in my portfolio. You did well to include a object in the foreground as most leave this out.
Are you around Cairns area ?
Keep up the good work.
Cheers
