Very dramatic and nice expression. Choice of B/W over colour is adding to the mood. Excellent.

Allen, Timeless shot. I feel like I'm in the 1800's. The lighting is soft, pleasing and the dramatic shadows are very flattering. Fine, fine photography here! Regards, Damion

Nice moment and good use of natural light. Maybe next time try a reflector on the other side of the girl just to bounce a little more light into the shadows.

Alan, I like your photo because of the relationship of the shape of the hat and the shape of the distant mountain. I would suggest the following. The left side of the photo where you see the shape angle of the concrete shelf is distracting from the shapes of the hat and mountain. If you ever get back to the place you shot it, I would try a shot where you have the hat covering the pointed angle. Leave just a little bit on the right lower part to locate the hat in some space. Also bring the foreground down so you see bottom of the hat. As it is now the bottom rim of the hat leaves the space in the center and re-enters it again on the bottom right. Just a few ideas. Even if you don't change anything it is a great shot. All the best. James
