I like the soft tone to the piece. I like that the subject is clear, but seems to be part of the background, like she were aturally there. Well done.

Thank you Allen, yes, I understand what you are saying. However, this image of the gentleman's face is too dark and what I should have done was, mask out the background, adjust the tonal range of his face then, inverse to adjust the tones in the sky and wall. As I had already deleted my copy, I took another copy and had another go. Perhaps this might explain what I should have done in the first place.

Hi, Carter,

again.

In this image, I will really agree with you. In my original picture, the composition is somewhat incompact.

I will say I like the composition of yours.

Thank you very much.

Best Regards

Allen

Hi, Carter,

Firstly, I will thank you for your adivse. For the skin of that old man, I think you are right, it is not so dark. But, what I wanna express is that kind of dark skin. If everything will be expressed in the real situation that we see by our own eyes, I guess there will be no photography there.

For the real whites in this image, I do not agree with you. The sky in this picture is the real whites. I guess you mean there is no real whites in the old man's face, right?

Anyway, thank you very much for you comment.

Best Regards

Allen

Allen, I think this is over exposed, surely this old gentleman doe's not have such a dark skin ? There are no real whites in the image, I would suggest that a small adjustment in an editor using the levels and/or the curve command would fix this. I made an adjustment myself, hope you don't mind. I used a program called "Light Zone" which is very good for adjusting tonal values.

Allen, The image IMHO is quite nice but I think a tighter crop would be better and some slight adjustment to modify the tones would be an improvement.
Hope you don't mind me making the suggested treatment.

Super composition of a nice capture. I like the tilt of the photo which enhances the wacky nature of childhood. Congratulations on your award.

Congrats for the PoD Award Allen. An interesting choice. I should tell you that, in my opinion, the cant of the horizon line is a tad bit distracting. While clearly intentional and certainly a matter of personal preference, I think the picture would work well without the tilted horizon line. It has cute kids and a "Sesame Street" feel to it . . . -Just one man's opinion.
