I do feel truly blessed to be living here. There are few places in the world where such beautiful nature is so easily accessible.

Very nice composition and beautiful colors. I like very much the right dark side that make this shot more original than ordinary sunsets

Don't mind at all, always looking to improve. I really like the frame, and whatever you did to the colours makes it look a little more professional. I may have to do a little work to it and repost after seeing your redux version...

Hi Josiah,
This is a pretty flower and pretty colors. I really like the black background. To me it is a bit on the bright side. I hope you don't mind, but I took this into PS and played around with it a bit. I cropped it and messed with the hue, saturation, brightness, etc, and then did high pass sharpening on it as well as added a frame. Let me know what you think!

Looks like you're new to Usefilm...but certainly not to a camera! The shots that you have posted are great! I'm going to put you in my associates so that I can follow your work.
Wecome aboard!

I like the black back drop, how did you manage that?
also, i probably would have picked the thin leaf out of the frame, as it seems a little distracting.
otherwise, good shot!

Thanks for the tip, Martin, I'll have to try that. My camera has auto focus and manual focus, but the manual focus is very clunky, so I usually use the auto focus if I can.

This photograph presents the viewer with such an awe of arrangement of colours. I like how you have tied the black and yellow from the bee into the flowers and background. Well done.

There's a trick to focusing on insects in flowers. I assume your camera is auto focus (I'm too lazy to look it up).

The camera, naturally enough, focuses on the area of highest contrast closest to the centre of the image. In this case the petals at the edge of the flower. Knowing that, wait until the focusing is done, lock it (usually holding the shutter relase half down) and move back by the same amount as the distance between the insect and focus point. Then take the shot.

With a bit of practice it becomes second nature and you can do it in a fraction of a second. If you can set your camera to continuous shooting this makes it even easier as you can fire away as you back off and at least one fo the frames has to have a needle sharp insect.
