We called those Happy Accidents in Art School. I love this shot, great idea. How many photos did you have to take until you got what you were looking for? And how were your lungs afterwards? lol Dottie

Kevin, not only the backlighting and the silhouette of the guy but also the motion effect of his feet and the dust on the ground gave it a wonderful moody effect.
Good capture my friend,
Khaled.

You're right about accidents, Kevin, but you made the best of your "accident" and gave it a deep meening and this is what counts.
Thank you for your very empathic comment about our situation as expressed via my "Orange robbon."
I think my friend is indeed kind hearted. It shows in his face. Kind hearted is "haviv" (Javiv, as the Spaniards would pronounce it) and the quality is "havivut."
Best regards,
Rafi

I agree with your understanding of ?accidents? often providing the magic! Gotta stay ?open? to them accidents though ;-)?
This IS a fine picture Kevin: an otherworldly, science fiction feel prevails, created by the light, dust, and the way your body is positioned, walking straight to viewer, shaping anticipation in the viewers eye? ?From Dust to Dust? beautifully makes the point of image - an inspired title!
A bit of a critique concerns the ?confinement? of the present framing. I feel more vertical space (sky) enriches the ?strangeness??
Hope you don?t my messing with your shot! A very creative one it is!

Cheers, C.

Great light Kevin. The way it hits the dust and just creates that ambiance. Very good.

Wondeful shot especially from the light aspect.
My only comment is that it is too centralized (i.e. pointing the camera a bit to the left could improve this frame more for my opinion)

Cheers, Ori.

Hi Kevin,

wow, this one is really special. well deserved award for sure.

the unusual perspective makes the image, but I also like the geometry and the toning here.

great eye on that one!

best wishes,

Thilo

Another one of your beautiful drawings, but once more I could not play the film. Thank you for your detailed comment on my "Friend at work 2."
You asked me about the word Hessed (pronounced as the Spanish would pronounce Jessed.) There are about 15 definitions of the word in the dictionary, but being put shotly it is a good deed done out of compassion, or the quality that makes one do such deeds. In another connotation "Hessed shel emet" (hessed of truth) means the fulfillment of a dying person's last wish, such as finding a lost relative, even though the one who made the wish is already gone.
I don't think the word applies to my ex-patient and I hope that I have answered your question.
Best regards,
Rafi

Excellent composition and color, Kevin. I love the way you made a feature of the power tower; I also love the way it's dwarfed by the sun. And of course, a good sunset is hard to beat. A winner on all counts, well done!

Hey Andre,

Is this the same son who goes to Harvard? Or do you have more than one son? That would be something to brag home about, that someone from Harvard has seen my film.

Thanks so much to all of you for your kind comments.
