This is a great image of a peaceful little bay, but we can see that nature is not always peaceful here. Lovely bucolic setting. Thanks, Urs, for your recent comments on my photos. -- Naomi

Nice capture of the congestion at Damnoen Saduak Market. Isn't it a great place for photographers? When I was there, we rented a boat and went up the channel a little way. There was a woman squatting on a platform brushing her teeth using channel water. I wanted a picture so badly, but I just couldn't bring myself to snap it of that personal moment.
Thanks for your recent comment on my Delicate Arch pic. You mentioned wanting to visit the area for mountain biking. FYI, it is a great area for that, although I'm now sure how much you can do in Arches National Park. There are many possibilities, however, in neighboring Canyonlands National Park. -- Naomi

Nice capture of Horseshoe Bend. I esp. like the lighting on the center peninsula against the dark ring of river and how it pops out of the image. I was there a few months ago, but it was near sunset and light in the canyon was poor. Thanks for your comment on my image Grand Canyon Sunset. -- Naomi

Thanks for the suggestions, John. On this trip I mostly shot RAW and I'm struggling with tweaking colors, contrast, etc., when I convert. I haven't yet developed a successful way of doing it. Have you worked with converting RAW? -- Naomi

Hi John, Thanks for your comment. Here's a wider shot of Newspaper Rock -- not a great image, but it gives perspective. It is believed that this rock was used by many generations of indigenous people as they passed through the area. -- Naomi

Very nice bridal image. Makes the viewer wonder what she is thinking about. I might crop the top, perhaps even make it a square image -- I find the light areas near the top vaugely distracting. Thanks for commenting on my image "Preparing to Launch." -- Naomi

Hi Paul. Thanks for commenting. It's been so long since I worked on this image, that I don't recall exactly what I did. I think I selected her (I use Photoshop), then under the Select pulldown menu chose Inverse, so that when I blurred the image, it blurred the background. -- Naomi

Beautiful golden colors against the dappled background. I'm not sure why, but my first emotional response to this was one of sadness -- maybe a favorite sitting spot shared with someone who is now gone. Like I said, I don't know why the response. Thanks for your comment, Jon. The background is a bay, hence the slanting horizon. I did play with straightening it, but that skewed the plants to the right, so I went back to the way it was shot. Thanks for looking. -- Naomi

Congats on the Best in Project! This IS a very elegant image. I like the contrast of the yellow-green against the very dark blue; and of the rounded shapes of the leaves against the stright line reflections of the tree. Reminds me of some of Andy Goldsworthy's work. Nicely done. -- Naomi
