Gorgeous shot of one of my favorite places, Joel. Of course, no photograph can convey the feeling of standing in the presence of such power.:)

Thank you. The camera was along on many adventures, it didn't owe me a thing :) It was quickly replaced/upgraded the following week.

Wow, what an awesome view... too bad about your camera. It seems to have lived a very adventurous life though and has served you well. 7/7

Best wishes,
Brigitte

Joel; great shot, but if you can, re-do the shot and strive for extreme focus. It's what Ansel Adams would have done.
cheers, Jack

He is alive and well. I have a feeling this guy will make it into several climbing/mountaineering photo publications over his lifetime.

He's not in any danger at all. This was taken on one of our backcountry missions behind Whistler Mountain. There are a lot of slips on that slope, but there's a giant Valley just beyond the person so he was in no danger. Our original plan was a ski that slope, but the avalanche danger proved too high. We also carry transceivers, shovels and probes at all times in the mountains. He was actually on his way to dig a test pit and snowcave in this photo.

Glad you enjoyed the photo, it's always hard to grasp scale on alpine environment as there aren't any trees of other natural shapes to relate too.

The human is essential for scale. What worries me is the snow in the background that is obviously slipping. Is this person in danger? CC
