Even more than the shadows, I really like the composition; the way the way you have the feathers spaced does a great job of making the eyes on the feathers look like real eyes of some sort, as though they're staring out at something - it's a nice effect.

Doesn't seem like you fooled anybody, Patrick. I was going to guess peacock feather too. This is a very well composed shot that shows some real creativity. Nicely done

They both have their own charm. If I had to choose, though, I'd go with the coloured as the little bud really appeals to me and stands out.
