Shirley,

OK...Expose for highlights and use your histogram to see where your highlights and shadows fall. You've been shooting chrome, so it should come easy to you!

Shirley,

This looks like a still from a Kurosawa film! Nice!

Shirley,

One of my best pieces of advice is when using a digital camera is to be sure to turn it off before changing lenses. The sensor discharges and is less likely to attract dust.

Best of Luck,
Terry

Shirley,

Film has/is serving you well. You have much more patience than I and perhaps a much faster computer as well to do so much scanning. I'd be shootng more film if I could afford it. I love my FM and F100 more than my D200! I miss shooting Fujifilms too. They are so satisfying.

Cheers,
Terry

Robert,

Perhaps this image would look more dramatic if it were in BW?

Nice, nonetheless. :)

Shirley,

I've been sick for quite a few weeks and now I feel well enough to walk around my neighborhood. I'll be able to do more non-Godzilla related photgraphy. :)

Thank you for all your comments and wonder imaging.

Do you have a digital camera?

Cheers,
Terry

Levent,

I love the composition and attention to light in this image.

You have a great portflio with many sophisticated images.

Let me know how you like your D200 vs FM3. I have many Nikons and my FM is my favorite.

Cheers,
Terry

Robert,

Go out and rent both before you buy. 2 reasons I have the D200 is frame rate and weatherproofing (I have shot in the rain more than once). The new S5 covers weatherproofing (D200 chasis) but still has a slow frame rate (2.5 frames a sec.). None of the Nikon cameras will match the Fuji for dynamic range though.

Lets keep in touch; terry@SPAMsephotoimaging.com. Be sure to remove the word "SPAM".

Cheers,
Terry

Robert,

I've found the S2 a great studio camera. Under tight lighting conditions it creates spectacular images. Outside the studio it's not as strong as my D200 in many ways(i.e. build quality and focus speed). I wouldn't give either camera up though!

Cheers,
Terry

Have you had problems with banding in the blacks/blu-blacks of some of your images with your S2?

Great pic.

I took some pictures with a 16mm near the sculpture. Tokyo has such great architecture. That building has a great cafe and observation deck! See my picture of the lobby:
