I prefer your original version with the Hugo comment abot the left corner;
the contrast in Hugo version is too strong IMHO and destroy the romantic nature of this shot; what's more, the label is not readable (but the reson of that could be compression as well)
well done;
regards
Lukasz

Hi Mark, I like the idea (i perceive) in this image; the romantic, classic nature of this shot is well emphasised by the softness of the glass, and I like this kind of composition in general.

I do think there are a couple of things that could be improved upon. First, I would increase the contrast a bit. The romantic, classic nature would benefit from a more balanced tonal range. That would also give a more lifelike look and feel to the materials and textures.

Secondly, I think the edge of the table in the lower left corner is distracting from the atmosphere. Not something to crop, but I would've placed the glass and bottle more to the center of the table.

Other than that, a fine shot, with a lot of potential. In the attached image, I've tried to express the things I would change... Hope you don't mind.

Cheers,

Hugo

Just great.
To do photos like this one, it isn't just luck!
A bit out of focus, it seems to me, but ti adds a mistery atmosphere.

Cheers

it has a very nice soft light to it. Did you use a filter or was this just the right moment?
