I like this one best, for the direct and intense view and the straight look into her amazing blue eyes

Wow, the similarity to horses is amazing, when I saw the thumbnail, I thought "nice morphing work". Well spotted!

For a funny interpretation of what such bird groups could mean, see
http://www.usefilm.com/image/663971.html

I like these bird shots, and yours is well done.

Greetings,

Paul

Your fruit series is very creative, I especially like "yellow attack" and this one, they are the funniest! Thanks for posting, greetings,

Paul

Looks like ancient technology - a way to transmit information with a wire without using electricity ;-)
Nice image, I like it, the diagonal composition and the birds' shilouettes in front of the clous and the blue sky are very good.

Greetings,

Paul

Thanks for your kind commentand rating, Steve. I like geometric compositions, that's why I posted this photo, but I was a bit disappointed it attracted so few viewers. Maybe it should have had a nice girl "casually" dressed on one of the balconies ;-)

I've checked your other flower photo, and I will start experimenting with tonings next weekend, thanks for sharing your technique!

Greetings,

Paul

Hey audra, had a look at this picture again, and I like it more and more. Read your reply to Mark where you stated that you don't even have a decent camera, then had a look at your self portrait and saw you have an older, perhaps manual focus, SLR. Well, I'd call this a decent camera, that's what I use and enjoy using. On the screen, the pictures don't look as vivd as those from digital cameras, but I just started experimenting with a film scanner and photoshop, amazing what can be done... But for a good photo/portrait like this one, it depends on how you establish a connection to the model that can be felt by the viewer, and so totally not on the camera. So, keep on photographing and enjoying it.

CU,

Paul

Wow, excellent geometric and colour composition. A little tilting in photoshop to get the lines exactly horizontal would make it perfect (oh my, I'm splitting hairs again...)

This is a cool photo that gives a good impression what Troy might be like - and that's what doing portraits is all about. I like the composition and the angle of shooting, will also have a look at the rest of the Troy pictures.

Paul

Schöne geometrische Komposition und guter Aufnehmewinkel, es ist immer wieder schön zu sehen, was ein veränderter Blick auf das Alltägliche bewirken kann.

Good thing you had your camera with you! This is a beautiful picture, and converting it to b&w was the right choice, I think. Very good capture with excellent depth of field.

Paul

Very creative image, but I think his arm should be b&w, too, to make it more consistent. Only the painting and the tip of the brush should be in colour.

Paul

Well spotted, the light part in the middle makes it a distinctive from a normal perspective shot, and it frames the persons, really an excellent, composition. How long did you wait for someone to walk by exactly at the right spot?

Sorgfältige Komposition und passend Farbwahl (Sepia), ein schöner Einstieg auf Usefilm, Fräulein Kuhlbars. Hoffentlich bekommen wir bald mehr davon zu sehen.

Excellent b&w image, the tones are very good. I had a look at your portfolio, and I think I will have to try the Fomapan slide film, see if I can get it here. Is the brownish colour cast normal for this kind of film? I like this look a lot.

Greetings,

Paul
