Sorry about your camera, but this shot is great! I have the Canon Powershot S2 IS, and I'm happy with the results, but I'd like to have a camera with RAW capture to see the differences.
Anyway, beautiful shot, you can be happy with it.

I am really sorry to hear about your loss , that must have been a horrible feeling. You have captured a very beautiful shot with her camera. I love the way the lighting picks up the golden/red tones throughout and the way the shot fade out into the mist. Alison
