i like the black and white grainy effect in your picture,Simon...the composition is good and the shallow depth of field works very well ;-)
good work!

hi Ian yes the Helios is a m42 mount i is the normal lens for the Russian zenit series of cameras it is a nice lens as the aperture makes almost a perfect circle when stopped down which give,s the out of focus areas a real creamy flavour and cheap too , thanks for your kind word's

Really sparks the imagination all sorts of ways the photo in here. It is like the shadow represents the same sort of thing at another stage of some sort of process. I'm not sure if they are at all in reality but either way it works for me because of the similarity and differnce of th object and the shadow.
Well composed shot, not sure bout the arrangement.
Helios 44, is that an m42? I'm a pleb but really like getting cheap m42 primes and seeing what I can learn from them.

Simon!

Wow yes!

Canadian farming tradition is right there in the nose and flowing breezy hair... and Julia Margaret Cameron came in to do the eyes...

You never cease to excite me!

Yeah!

I just went to a small town fair, and have to saw that the motion sickness is returning...

I think that makes it a good shot.

Tad bit dark, underexposed, think a quick change in a photo program could update the photo... really like the motion blur, but later at night perhaps would get some really intense colors and swirls.

Hope you had fun!

Good shot, good focus on the face.
The long composition was probably more striking when you had vertical colour in the material for colour contrast. NIce work.

Sobra mucho espacio por la derecha...la mirada debe de tener más por delante...pero me gusta la luz algo oscura pero la intencion fue excellent. Precioso pelo de la niña y buena definición.Buen lente tambien.
