Very Nice John! There is a strong sense of being in a cathedral in this image. And... in fact you are in such a place that could not be replicated. I like how the path leads my eye into the picture and the textural feel of the tree trunks framing it.

Yes, it is good to find another Minolta man. And thanks for your kind comments on my image.

Al the best - Bill

See, a digital colour picture converted to B&W would NEVER turn out like this. Thank goodness for film eh! Nice shot.

Today is actually my first day back on Usefilm; hopefully by next week I can have some new photos up! Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my portfolio!!

John, The birds, or absence therof, is like the parting of the sea. The colonadded building is so visually appealing. And although I am generally not a fan of a blank / white sky, I think it works well here, as the upper left hand corner of the image goes completely white. I'm not sure if its an illusion created by the angle of the building, but the image appears slightly cockeyed to me. (Maybe its the effect of my long day at work.) Cheers, Mark

Fabulous, John. The composition is most appealing, as are the tone and subject. It's great how there's an empty space without birds in the foreground, and that they get more dense as the eye travels into the image, and then there is more negative space in the sky. It creates an engaging balance. T.

I'm am so drawn in by this image. You are wonderful at perspective. I agree b&w is perfect. The darkness and the light of the walkway just begs the viewer closer. You can tell you are in your element and this image is an extention of your soul.

Hi John, the guiding lines in this photo are very strong.

Michael basically said (and did) it all, and there's not much to add, except for that it's good to hear from you again...!

Cheers,

Hugo

This is such an interesting perspective. The textures and color are rich. The sinking boat gives it a surreal tone. It is really an excellent composition -- very engaging.
