Dave: Lovely! Down in Denver, they are in full bloom. None here yet. Our aspens are barely leafing now. It's been a cool spring so far.

Dave: Ah yes, the Red-winged Blackbirds are everywhere. They become such outrageous characters in the spring breeding season. We have one we call "Feather" who comes back every year. His name is derived from one deviant wing feather that is alway askew every year. It doesn't bother him that we can detect. Nice catch and great composition with the tilted fence post.

Dave: Great shot! The atmosphere is lovely and the use of sepia toning is entirely appropriate. Thanks again Dave for all your kind comments on the foxes. We haven't been able to catch them out for two weeks. Perhaps tomorrow as it has been snowing for a day or two.

Bill: I display my photos in a local gallery here in the town of Frisco. They have sold a ton of my "Leaping Fox triptych" prints and quite a few of my hummers. The leaping fox is broken down into three shots elsewhere in this portfolio. I may eventually send this particular shot to some sort of publication but we are waiting until the kits are mature and scattered so as to not attract too much attention to them. My wife and I work as volunteers for the local Wildlife Transport Team so we are trying to remain sensitive to encroachment on wildlife habitat. This den has already been featured on the local TV news and such so we are playing it quiet for a while.

Hey Bill: This was shot on Thursday. Unfortunately, it has been cloudy or rainy since then. Maybe I will get back tomorrow. Hope they haven't been moved. The vixens will sometimes do that. Thanks for the encouraging words. This one is going into the local gallery for sure.

There is an earlier version of the frame before this posted here. Basically, I adjusted exposure, deleted some weeds at right and vignetted the image slightly with both shade and blurring. The fox needed nothing save fewer distractions surrounding it. Let me know if you think it too much. Thank you for your gracious comments.

Hey Joe: Thank you. The site required a return trip to get there at the right time of day. For once, the light is best late. There is a sidewalk above the den with the sun at my back after midafternoon. The animals are very used to people as a road curls around the site on both sides.
