The picture is very good, very attractive, especially the colors of the flower. Could it be improved? I believe the answer is yes, but it requires some work. Next time try to take the same picture 3 times in a row at about one hour intervals, in the last 3 hours before sunset. Like right now it would be at 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30 PM. Then compare the 3 pictures and draw your own conclusions as to when you got the best shot. Shooting while the sun is up in the sky is rather difficult, even the pros don't succeed very well, because some area will be overexposed and another underexposed. In your picture it looks as if the center of the flower is overexposed. I wish you good luck and lots of patience, Alex

Well, could have done that...but I think it leaves a nice empty space for the viewer to get the notion that it was at a vast open area. If I start cropping...it makes the picture small...more compact, I mean yes...It would look great if I had something to crop out..but I think it's fine the way it is...but thanks Kristina!

Such lovely capture! The colours are wonderful and so nice with the environment around the beautiful butterfly! Very nice mix of colours! How about a tighter crop and "cut" half sky off on top, and a little bit on left side? All the lovely colours in background would still stay, but the butterfly wouldn't be so center placed. Just an idea, but I find it wonderful as it is now too!

Well...a lot of people have been saying "well the middle of the picture is white" Honestly, I really like it white, in fact, I would have chose this picture over the a one where you can see the inside....
And the middle isn't totally white...I managed to recover this interesting feater by burning about 65 times the original Just thought you guys would wanna see what you didn't before

Lovely shot. Beautiful hibiscus. I have had all kinds of tropicals, but I also have a perrenial that comes back every year with these same colors..the size of a saucer. This summer I'll post a pic or two. Good job!

Brian, thanks for your comment. For this lovely pic here, I second Luther's idea about cropping and darkening the background. But the overexposure is really good here, for me the white in the flower actually makes the image.

You managed to keep good detail in the white flower. There is something funny going on in the right hand side of this photo, compression artefacts of DOF softened stuff?
