Thank you Michael. The shot does have "lucky seven" in it. I hope it works.

Beautiful shot! Even though you are from a totally different part of the world, I have a shot that is similar. http://www.usefilm.com/image/915529.html I am from Ontario, Canada.

First of all, bravo, "7".

Please tell me, how did you get an IR photo from a D70? Did you send it away and have it converted so that it does not filter out the IR light? I would love to know.

Thanks,

Ernie

Beautiful! Well thought out and executed. My only suggestion would be that the main stalk is a bit bright compared to the rest of the image.

I like the darkening you have done to the edges. Great shot.

Ok, nobody had mentioned it yet, so I will tell you what I think it looks like. I think that the two small areas of green at the top look like eyes. The yellow (center part) looks like a nose. And the way the two petals on the right and left are formed it makes the whole thing look kinda like a blowfish. Of course he does have a mustache and beard. (or a kentucky type tie)

Thanks again Rina. I am just trying to help share what little I know about this vast expanse of digital! I just found that tutorial a few weeks ago, so when I saw your flower problem I took a look and... it was a perfect application for it. It is always nice to share info (both ways) with others. I learn a lot on here as well.

It has been a great thread to make new friends here as UF, and hey, what a team! We made the front page! Yahoo!

Very nice. It is a shame it was a bit hazy that day. I love the shot though. My family is originally from Rocca San Giovanni in Provincia di Chieti, Abruzzo, Italy.

I still have some relatives there although I do not know them personally.

Oh, I forgot the last step.
After you paste the selection into the blue channel, turn on the "view" of all the channels again, however leaving the blue channel highlighted, so that changes you make will only effect this channel. You will notice that the hue of the image is different for the area you pasted vs the area you did not effect (the part with thy yellow in the center of the flower that you did not select). Then go to image-adjust-levels, and select the blue channel. Adjust the center slider till the hue of the flower matches perfectly. Done.

I took a few minutes to take a look at your image. If you use the channels pallet and look at each channel you will find that the spots are visible only in the blue channel. i made a selection which DID NOT include the yellow part of the photo from the centre of the flower (with a 10 pixel feather). I then selected the red channel which had no spots at all and copied the selection. I then went back to the blue channel and pasted it in. This is the result. What do you think?

It is basically the same technique used to get rid of moire in an image. Email me direct (from my profile) and I will send you a link to a great tutorial on this.

Enjoy.

I love this shot just the way it is. The orange spots are part of nature, so why change them?

Hi Christophe, No, I have not tried this yet. I have a big problem with lack of space in my apartment to set up my lights. (that is the excuse I am using anyways...lol)

Looking forward to seeing your water shots.

Very nicely done! The exposure is spot on. I too, have been facinated by these pics. I would say you figured it out very nicely.

Earl, this series of images all seem to have a blue colour cast. Take a look at the white dress, and the white collar of the groom.

I made a quick adjustment on PS, take a look at the difference. You may wish to consider reposting after adjusting the colour balance.

This is a keeper! Just enough DOF to keep the eyes sharp, but fade the background. What a great kitty, and an excellent job of capturing his essence.

Please tell me if this is a straight from the camera shot, or if it is a photoshop composite? Either way it is a great shot. (not to mention a wonderful cat!)

Great shot! Despite what appears to be fairly harsh light, you made a great capture. I have been trying to get a nice shot like this of the male wood duck for al ong time now, but without success. (so far!)

Well done, and great portfolio!

very nice! the lighting is perfect, with the highlights not being blown out and not causing any distracting shadows. The model is gorgeous as well. I like this one a lot.
