Gorgeous bird. What kind of duck is it? Nice and sharp and a great reflection.

Thanks. :) The black background is just because I exposed for the highlights on the water. The shadows just disappeared because of the small exposure latitude of the slide film. :)

Nice abstract. lots of flowing line. It took me a minute to figure out what it was. I will not spoil it by saying it in my comment.

Great job on sharp focus. Just a hint of wing blur to show motion. I would have scored it much higher if you had ran it through a noisewear plugin first. :)

Great sharpness. Love the catchlight from the flash, and that the flash was not overpowering.
I like the crop, it gives a good sense of surroundings.

First of all, bravo, "7".
Please tell me, how did you get an IR photo from a D70? Did you send it away and have it converted so that it does not filter out the IR light? I would love to know.
Thanks,
Ernie

Beautiful! Well thought out and executed. My only suggestion would be that the main stalk is a bit bright compared to the rest of the image.
I like the darkening you have done to the edges. Great shot.

Ok, nobody had mentioned it yet, so I will tell you what I think it looks like. I think that the two small areas of green at the top look like eyes. The yellow (center part) looks like a nose. And the way the two petals on the right and left are formed it makes the whole thing look kinda like a blowfish. Of course he does have a mustache and beard. (or a kentucky type tie)
