WOW, AWESOME!!! Great colors and mood. You've got enough light with the 89? Or did you use a tripod and B? Anyway, I love this image! Cheers! Carlheinz

Kevin, at the risk of boring anyone else reading this to death, but just to be thorough, it's Highland & Willoughby. I just drove by there, and they've removed all the stars and other Texaco stuff. It's still a cool little building, but not really worth going out of your way to see. (p.s. Don't ever ask me for directions anywhere cause I'll only get you lost.)

It's in Hollywood, Kevin. La Brea & Willoughby, I think. It's a car wash now, but they might have retained some of the Texaco paraphernalia, because I think it was a historically protected site (although I could be wrong about that). Anyway it was a great old fashioned service station, the likes of which you don't see anymore, at least not in Hollywood.

Very well done -- I am a native of Orange, Ca..Where are you shooting these Taxaco images? I lust for any image or reference to my So.Cal. roots. Where is this? ... from a SO CAL wanderer...K

It still retains your individuality though, the slight blue sky creeping in really adds to the overall dynamic, great shot

Sorry Fred, I didn't mean to imply you mentioned anything about the darkness. That was just me inserting my original concern about the picture where it didn't belong. Bad habit of mine. Thanks again for your comment.

Great color - to some color must be bright and splashy but as shown with this image it is not always so -- your crop is exceptional -- regards -- K

Thanks Fred. Actually I did spend time trying out different things, but went back to the original. This is straight out of the camera, uncropped, untweaked. Shot at night under streetlight. I know it's dark, but I didn't like any contrast or brightness adjustments I made. Maybe I'll change my mind tomorrow. :-)

It's only interesting if a comment on why someone does not like it rather than simply leaving a " :/Dont Like It" remark which means nothing other than a lack of imagination. There's an interesting quality of depth and obscurity here, very dense. Another subjective image from Mr. SE.

Thanks Kevin. It was taken with a manual white balance, set to a cloud or just the sky, and shot through a pair of sunglasses.
