Hey bro,

reduced to the max. who cares about details in the darker areas when the reduced detail is the deal? no one, I hope. that's the deal here.

cd cover for sure. if that's a compliment for ya =)

WHOA!!!! where did that come from!?!?!?!?!?!?! for a moment, i could have sworn it was a phasmatic depiction from a Doors perfomance... a stolen moment of the past... but no, it?s present... its beautiful and tense, soft but rebellious alternative... mesmerizing... an absolute fav!!!!! emy

O.k o.k. the parents live (again). Just want to act out some Sonic Youth covers before I get much (much) older.
Shots like this though man and you'll be getting fan mail not critiques and there'll be some wacky propositions in that.
Thanks for the cultural sensitivity re: the ars* thing.
Actually I think I have heard "the organ" it was one of those "who IS that band" moments.
You're right at the fulcrum of the planets saturday night. It's not ALL happening there but I'm sure everyone who comes want to make their best statement. This is a strong one.

Carlheinz, I don't know this performer...but it doesn't matter, you have the ability to capture moods and "presence" so well that it still captures my imagination..

Ian!!!...I was about to say: my friend...but after that I'm not sure anymore. You know I live here in the Land of the Lawyers and after hearing about your plan I picture myself in court...I plead not guilty your Honour to charges that I put Ian M. up to murder his parents, steal their car, sell it, leave everything behind, fly to NYC to carry photo bags and change films...You like to see my as* or should I better say ars* in jail?...Your honour! all I did was to post a concert shot from time to time on a photo forum...
You give me something to think about...but would be sweet to have somebody for the bag HAHA!!!

Looks potent, someone to keep watching even when she's off the mike. Sidelight's awesome. The blurr's exciting, I suppose it adds a sense of point of view.

...don't stop caring!...I know what you mean about the issue of gear - I tend to get so caught up in it that it taints my image making - I now try to go it as bare bones as possible ... anyway I like the tones and the downward gaze - as if at a brief moment of silence in the wave of sound ... K

Hey Rick!
REALLY appreciate your comments because I value your opinion so much. Sorry, my friend, but for that one my vision and the helping hand of PS got me to that result. But have to say, that a Hassy is in the house and I look forward to do axactly that kinda portraits without "cheating".

C-Man....I've been so involved with earning my living with the camera, that I've neglected dropping-in on my friends and I really miss this! I love the "glow" of this sensitive portrait. Clue me in on the technique, if you don't mind. I'm impressed with the snap on the facial, without a speck of detail on the background. How'd you achieve this? Check out another shooter, who I admire locally and he has this style down pat! www.brentjollyphotography.com see the Gallery 9 stuff on Poulsbo Fire Dept. Portraits Regards, Rik

High key, low contrast, difficult trick. Really lovely shot, simplicity in set up and subtle tones, and a hint of melancholy.

Hi bro,

awesome stuff, would place it into the dramatic portrait. the high key look and the soft tones make up a great MB portrait. the hint of color is perfect. that's the good stuff!
