I am raising her Hanna, the least she can do is poke her face in front of the camera now and then...actually both my kids are very much used to have dad dragging around his camera and all kinds of rediculous objects... in search of yet another bizarre project.

Yessss, lovely picture!
What more could we want apart from the things you mentioned..ehhh one hell of a camera to photograph us trying to conquer the world...great sex and a neighbour who mows your lawn...beer, stowed away cold and dark....a moneyclip that is bending outward.. a Windows that won't crash when you ask what the time is..and one little kiss by the kids before they go to sleep, so that we know what the f*ck we are doing this all for...

I agree with Barry,
Good use of the filter... for a short time I was afraid that you had left all the new cd's of your friend in the back of the car during a heatwave.....
Thanks for your kind words.. and yes, it doesn't matter what people think...
Have fun,

Phil,
Very nice shot! Shots like this one get a hell of a lot of jepg noise in the darker parts. Fact is that most camera's can't cope with extreme lightdifferences anyway and that is where the trouble starts in the first place. Some work in Photoshop can partly clear that up for you ...I took the liberty of doing it here: jacked up the dark parts (made them darker ), cloned away some of the jpeg noise, hightened the saturation in the dark parts to keep some of the colors in there ... see what uou think..

To Jim,
Thank you for your kind words and effort!

The picture was originally made to be printed on paper with some kind of rough or structured surface.. I found that that worked best if the contrast wasn't too high and the colors a bit soft and not too dark. The main problem was trying not to kill the very subtle yellows at the top of the cornstalks...they had to 'shine'as much as possible..Would the picture be printed on any kind of normal photopaper you would of course be perfectly right in the corrections you made..as to the framing.. I tried black and other obvious colors but it didn't work out very well...mostly I stick to a simple rule, being: if the frame is not black or white, I choose a color that exists in the photo but it must be a color that is only seen in one place in the photo or in some details.. In this case I choose one of the many colors that are in the sky..so that is why you see that in the upper right corner, the frame and sky blend together. As another example see my pictureaughter of a knight.
Greetings
Rob

Wow Roger,
Phantastic shot! You might have jiggled the contrast a bit, but hey, You did that very well! There is a kind of warmth in there that is hard to explain...Doesn't it ever stop? There is still so much I have to learn....Good thing I can peak at your portfolio for some inspiration...

Pat, You could have lightened this picture but good thing you didn't do that! Easy to say that you should focus on the eyelashes but a child is one bundel of movement...so you just go along as best as you can..Good job!

Bjorn,
The Styx is an underground and mythical (the one you will cross after you have died...so the story goes) river..so no sun..what you see is the receding light of the ferry that puts dead people across...It is said that shamans are able to cross into the land of the dead and come back sound of mind..Look into the eyes of the guy..he has been to places you don't dare to dream of. He is also glad to be alive.

Natalie,
So silent the night..so telling of what we are and how we live..I love the quiet but insistent voice of buildings photographed at night.
Beautiful work,
