This is a great macro shot I love the depth of field. I used to teach advanced science and this would have been a perfect shot for students learning about ferns. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the help guys. I will keep all of this in mind. I need to work on catchlights. I've only had my Alienbee flash system for a week so, I'm in the learning phase. I have shot all natural light up until now. I will remember next time to post more info. I used two umbrellas on two Alienbee 800's, I don't remember exactly what they were set on. I changed the settings several times for different effects, therefore I don't remember. The tree was only about 5 foot from the opposite wall and I had about 5 ft of width to put all my gear into! It was REALLY tight.

I don't feel like I am experienced enough to rank a photo but, I really like this. It is very pleasing to look at. I love the illumination of the petals. Great job!

Dogs are very difficult to photography sometimes. I photographed a black lab once and it was a REAL struggle. I think a white/buff dog may have some of the same problems. I used all natural light and no flash. I also used a well lit background to accentuate his fur. Good Luck!
