Congrats on another well deserved award. I love how you chose to post the B&W image over the color image. The B&W gives off a better timeless, natural, and real sort of feeling. I hope you don't mind me uploading my version. I made some minor changes to contrast and tones as well as a very small crop to remove the wave in the top right corner. Not a better version, just an alternate perspective to your work...

Very nice photo Gayle. Sorry its been so long since I commented on any of your work. I like the feeling and the mood. The grain is kinda nice too...

No, I actually just tried super hard to keep the camera steady. I didn't want to carry a tripod around at the zoo so lots of my shutter speeds were pretty slow, but I managed to control camera shake pretty well...

Very creative photo. I enjoy the fact that you can see a person's face on the far right side of the image. Well done...

Which camera do you want to steal Jude? The one on the bed is my Elan 7N, but the one used to take the pic is actually a lot nicer. Its my XT. Thanks for all of your comments...

I really like the panoramic feel. The tones are great and everything but this picture might have had a little bit more "mood" to it if you had waited a couple of minutes until the sun was fully set. Just curious: did you take any after the sun had gone down? I'm wonder if they were better of not...

This is great. Its really a dis-orienting shot, but it works great as a sort of architectural abstract...

This is a very simple, yet very effective flower shot. I love the idea of having the closest flower crisply in focus and using the shallow DOF to have the others fading out of focus. Well done...

Look who's back...

Wez made a couple of good points. I think that if you were any closer then the background would be too simplified and then this image would lose all interest. I do, however, agree with the more saturation. Check out what I did with it. I really like this shot overall though, Josh. It has good photographic style and its really creative. Well done my friend...

I've been there. It is a cool litte place right by the Jasper Market. All of those waterfalls are really cool. To help you with your photography: you should try to shoot that scene when it isn't in direct sunlight and try to use a slower shutter speed to convey motion in the water. I'll show you that stuff soon...

I like the style and the mood that you've portrayed in this pic. It really dictates the viewer's feelings. Technically, I think it might be a little bit dark. Its not really that the scene is super dark, but the inside is much too dark compared to the bright green coming in from the window. If you are going to keep the image as dark as it is then that is fine, but the green needs to be toned down a little. If you brighten up the inside of the building then the mood will change but the picture will be a little bit more balanced. You have to make the call of what is more important: mood or esthetics...

I agree, the rule of thirds sucks. Bravo for being unconventional and defining what makes a good image rather than letting the definitions of a good image define your photographic style. You've produced an image that is so elegant and stylish. Well done...
