I think this is absolutely great Jim and can't understand why no one has commented before now. The clarity is superb with all these beautiful and smooth reflections because of the exposure duration and then you have all those stars from the lights across the expanse of the bridge totally highlighted by that wonderful colour of deep blue.
Thanks so much for sharing!

What a great face and pose, this is a really nice shot James, he looks quite spry for 96, must be the good mountain air. I guess he may not have too many teeth either. :)) Alison

Love the composition and the light. It looks as if the sun is almost directly overhead - mid-day? - but you've handled it very well.
This is a magnificent animal, rather lighter hued and less hirsute than I thought it would be.

Very nice shot. Thanks for sharing this. This is indeed one of the greatest archaeological finds of the last century. These were intended to guard the burial site of the first emperor to unite China. The actual tomb is yet to be located in the complex. Also amazing is the story of how a visiting American scientist found the cure for the fungus that was invading the images after they were unearthed.

Great portrait. The chain around the neck is almost perfectly camouflaged. A bit of cropping off the top and the right might improve it even more.

Enjoy the next trip - look forward to seeing some of the resulting photos.
Never been to Guangxi, but am very familiar with this kind of landscape, which always suggests the persistence of people in their constant attempts at survival.
Best, Len

Both shots are great, the main one is so lush and I like how the distance fades off into the haze, creating nice depth. The one below has some really nice colors and more of an abstract feeling due to the varied colors. Alison

The image above was taken at the end of July 2008, the image attached in this comment was taken in mid-June 2005. You can see the difference a month makes in this region. Both images were taken from (nearly) the same spot, although it took me awhile to find it this time around since it looked quite different.
The image attached here is also in my portfolio (somewhere in the middle).
